I've had this page on "stay tuned" for the LONGEST and decided today was the day I would finally get something up here. & let me tell you....... I'm a talker, so I am sorry if this is a little lengthy. I just sent off engagements this afternoon for a hometown friend + her fiance, so why not start off my photography site blog with someone I can barely contain my excitement for!?

Ashley is one of those friends for me that I can not see for years (which did happen), but when I do, we pick up right where we left off and it's as if no time had passed at all... or maybe too much time when we catch each other up with all the drama we missed out on in each-others' lives. We used to sit next to each other at lunch everyday and she was also one of my first seniors to shoot in my graduating class when I started this little business of mine back in high school.

I remember going to Huntsville for a senior session maybe my sophomore year of college and stayed with Ash. We were just pouring our hearts out with all the super lame boy stuff we had been dealing with at the time. I honestly felt so bad and just wanted to see her happy, as I do for all of my friends. But she is SO SWEET and absolutely deserves it. I knew she was praying on it and I've always said "everything happens for a reason" and couldn't wait for both of us to be genuinely happy someday-- hopefully sooner, than later.

Fast forward about a year and a half.. or so? I started seeing pictures of this new guy on Instagram and of course I texted her letting her know how happy it made me to see her lookin' all happy & shhtuff.

Fast forward some more to this past summer when I started getting shipments in for my little online store, tresorelle, and needed a few models. Of course I asked Ashley!! She came over and was telling me how great things were between her and Heath, who I still had yet to meet. He's super busy with baseball but was going to move back to Houston soon, and so was Ash for student teaching. I knew she was ready to be engaged by the way she talked about him with her googly eyes. Oh, and flat out saying it, too ;) It was only a matter of time!

August 12th rolled around and I log on Insta to SEE A RING ON ASH'S FINGER. I was squealing with excitement. A little sad I wasn't on their hike in Arizona to capture the moment, but super happy when we got to take engagements here in Houston and boyyyyy let me tell you, they are a perfect match. I only had to meet Heath once (finally) to see all this love in person.

in short, (I should've probably just stuck with this, right?)... don't let the heartbreak get ya down. Something S O much better is on the way and I'm SO FLIPPIN HAPPY FOR THIS GIRL.
